Program 1 Sightseeing tour of the Mekong and Chiang Saen

 

Duration: 08:30-14:00

Price: Up to 4 people, 1800 Baht each.  5 or more people 1,440 Baht each.  Children under 10 years old pay only half price.  For this tour be sure to carry your passport.

Highlights: golden triangle (panoramic view point where three countries meet) donxao island (laos) Chiang Saen

Depart from your hotel for the famous Golden Triangle area, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. Also visit the Opium House museum at the bends of the mighty Mekong River and see the scenic view of three countries from the Phu Khao view point. Descend and take a speed boat cruise along the Mekong River up to Laos-Burmese border and into the Don Island (Laos).then continue onto the old capital of Chiang Saen dating  back to AD 1260 located on the steep bank of Mekong River opposite Laos, to witness some magnificent ruins and temples.

Program 2: Exploring Mae Kok life 

Departure: 10.00 duration 4-5 hours

Price: Up to 4 people, 1,920 Baht each.  5 or more people 1,680 Baht each.  Children under 10 years old pay only half price.

Highlight: Long-Tail boat ride – Karen village – elephant riding – Buddha cave

Depart your hotel for a long-tail boat trip along the Kok River to Baan Ruammitr village (it takes around an hour)  where you start an exciting 30 minutes elephant riding through the jungle and country side. Afterward walk around the village to shop for souvenirs from the hill tribes. Then, also by boat, visit the Chiang Rai meditation center and the Buddha cave before returning to your hotel.

Program 3: Chiang Rai culture and life.

Departure 09.00 or 14.00 duration 4 – 5 hours

Highlight: King Mengrai monument – Hill Tribe Museum, local wet market, Wat Phra Kaew, The White Temple

Depart your hotel for the King Mengrai monument.  King Mengrai was the founder of Chiang Rai in 1262 A.D. Visit the hill tribe museum where you can enjoy learning the tribal cultures and buy some hill tribe products. Continue the trip on to Chiang Rai municipality market (local wet market). Then a stop is made at Wat Phra kaew where the famous Emerald Buddha (now in Bangkok) was found in 1434 A.D.  Next visit  Wat Rong Khun, also called “the white temple”, inside it contains murals and painting of Buddha images and a painted enamel ceramic floor.  The outside has been created with lime sculptured in Thai design and decorated with small pieces of mirror to make the building sparkle and shine under the sunlight. Return to your hotel.

Program 4: Long neck Karen, Akha, Lahu and Yao hill tribe villages 

Duration 09.00 or 14.00

Price: Up to 4 people, 2,040 Baht each.  5 or more people 1,800 Baht each.  Children under 10 years old pay only half price.

Leave your hotel and go to Mae Chan district to visit the Yao hill tribe village at Baan Pa Kham. Then continue on to visit the Lahu village at Baan Pang Sa where you can witness their local life and culture. Then visit the Akha and long- necked Karen hill tribe villages at Baan Ya Pa, a new settlement village migrated from Southern Burma almost ten years ago (when they had political problems). Return to your hotel.
