keep your nest egg and live on your pension

Your nest egg can be kept safe while you still enjoy a good life without spending the kids’ inheritance or, if you prefer, spend it on the trips you always wanted to take.

In Chiang Rai, the cost of living is cheap.  You can live comfortably on less than USD $1,300 per month,  live well on USD $2,000 per month or live very well on USD $3,000 per month.

If you have thought you would like to have a Thailand retirement visa but you think the process of getting a visa and settling down in is difficult, it is and it isn’t.  If you don’t speak Thai it is very difficult, but Retire In Thailand guarantees to make it simple and stress free.

Why You Should Consider Chiang Rai

If you have decided to retire in Thailand, you would do yourself an injustice if you did not consider Chiang Rai. Our newest shopping center, Central Plaza, has just about everything you would find in your local mall.

Chiang Rai is the northernmost large city in Thailand. Chiang Rai is a beautiful and comfortable place to retire. If you are a nature lover and want a quiet, laid back retirement without traffic jams and the heat of the south Chiang rai is the place for you.  Chiang Rai does not have as many bars as other cities, but we have enough which is in many ways a benefit, because most expats congregate around only a few of them.

Chiang Rai is considered to be the coolest city in the country. The average temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius during spring and it might go up to 35 degrees in summer then drops to 20 degrees in winter. More often than not, it rains for only about an hour and usually in the afternoon in rainy season.

If you prefer cooler weather, Chiang Rai is the best choice. But if you like hot weather, Chiang Rai also has that for you in summer from April to August. On average Chiang Rai is 5-10 degrees cooler than the southern cities and we actually enjoy four seasons.

The cost of living in Chiang Rai is cheaper than anywhere else in Thailand. It has been reported that Thailand is one of the cheapest countries to live in, therefore Chiang Rai must be one of the cheapest cities. There is also a close knit expat community and the local people are friendly.

Chiang Rai is more peaceful, quiet, less crowded and has cleaner air than Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai.  Being a small city, Chiang Rai does not have the traffic problems and pollution of cities like Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai.

For all of these reasons I think deciding to retire in Chiang Rai is a wise decision.

Securing your thailand retirement visa, getting a fair home rental and vehicle price are the three biggest reasons why you will need Retire In Thailand’s help when you first arrive.
