The Kieng Doi Fishing Park in Chiang Rai is a Family run fishing park very near to the Chiang Rai town center. With very good prices for fishing and rod hire it’s definitely worth a visit if you are up there in the North of Thailand.

Chiang Rai offers a few fishing parks, in my opinion the best of the bunch is Khieng Doi Fishing Park This is located just 6 kilometers from the town center.  Rates are very favorable at 60 baht per rod per day,

Mae Peum lake’s primary purpose is to serve the neighboring agricultural areas. Although the reservoir is a haven for snake-head it also is a fantastic place for Mekong catfish with scientific studies previously on these fish to determine their ideal habitat and their habits. The lake is bordered also by Mae Peum national park which covers an area of 351 km2 over both the Chiang Rai and Phayao provinces.
